It should be interesting to see what 2023 Acura Integra has in store for their fans – and possibly future fans that would fall over heels over the luxury ride. It’s a good thing that the luxury division (of Acura) would soon be re-launching the iconic nameplate to create a bombastic effect in the compact entry-luxury sector. Their completely new Integra has been set up to replace the ILX sedan, which has been considered aging and outdated.
The plan to launch (and promote) a sporty ride may be odd in the midst of SUV ‘attack’ and era, but it’s possible that the company wants to create something different. They don’t want to be another mainstream brand and auto manufacturer that simply follows the stream. After all, the Integra has played a crucial role in Acura’s development, so it is only logical if the company wants to maintain the ride; and even improves it to the higher level.
The Planned Upcoming Ride
The new 2023 Acura Integra would be coming with manual 6 speed transmission, while the automatic system would be completely optional. In fact, its overall underpinnings have been shared with the new Honda Civic. Integra even comes with the similar four-cylinder turbocharged 1.5 liter unit (which you can use in Civic Si), although many people expect stronger and better powertrain within the (revived) Type S trim. Hopefully, there would be Type R Acura Integra. That should be interesting! The all new ride would start manufacturing in 2022, set as the 2023 model.
Power and Transmission
Rumor has it that the new Integra would be running with four cylinder turbocharged unit with 1.5 liter capacity although they haven’t said anything detailed about the horse power. With this kind of arrangement, it’s possible that the new standard Acura may have 200, with either manual 6 speed or auto transmission. It’s highly likely that Acura will only come with front wheel driving system, but it has limited-slip differential as the standard.
The confirmation about the Integra is viewed as a surprise after the company ‘introduced’ NSX Type S at 2021 Monterey Car Week. The teaser was shown as drones shows, but it didn’t go as planned. It was still spectacular, but not in a sense that everyone had thought. At least, people can learn about the details of the new and sporty compact vehicle, and how it should look like.
Design and Look
There have been several teasers on the net about the new Integra. In September, the company released a (teaser) image showing Integra look with hatchback design and five-door arrangement. This would be the first time Integra will wear the five-door hatchback after the Integra third generation. It’s a nice surprised although some fans are hesitant about this design concerning Integra that is always associated with two-door design.
Because of the introductory image, there have been several teaser images on the net out there. But Integra is about ‘driving fun’ which means that you shouldn’t take that element from the car; no matter the design and layout. Nevertheless about the design, it’s nice to know that Acura
is being focused (and also serious) about their upcoming performance cars – again. It would be great to know that more reliable ride can be expected from them.
Price and Release Date
The Integra would be offered in 2 trims. The basic Integra is predicted to offer at around $30,000 while the sporty Type S may be sold at $40,000. Acura hasn’t said anything about the exact release date and price, but considering that production starts in 2022, it’s possible that the Integra would be available by the late 2022 or the early 2023. We should learn more about 2023 Acura Integra once the company has released detailed updates and newest announcement.
