Beemer definitely has a grandeur plan with their upcoming 2023 BMW 7 Series. They want to create another luxurious big sedan and win everyone’s hearts – again. And for the new model, they are going to create a plush ride for those who enjoy driving, and definitely for those who don’t want to drive in the back. So, what’s the next plan for them?
Importance of 7 Series Upcoming Plan
You have to admit that the auto industry is now dominated by the SUVs. BMW
wants something different from it. They want to show off the world that they still matter – with their sedan flagship. Drivers and passengers won’t have to worry about space. The 7 Series would be coming with bigger room without sacrificing luxury and comfort. And for the upcoming model, expect the sedan to have all the impressive combination of sophisticated driver assistance system, cutting-edge infotainment, and safety.
The Interior Cabin
There are several 2023 BMW 7 Series spyshots that have been around on the net; all show the interior cabin of the new plush ride. The steering wheel, for instance, has this nice and unique look, with lower spokes comes as a design of industrial-looking metallic. It comes complete with M badge located on the bottom. It seems that the spokes have touch sensitive abilities and controls.
The center console comes in lower design, housing iDriver controller. It may not be fancy like the one in iX, but let’s not forget that we are still having a prototype here. Anything is possible, including the further changes. Central armrest doesn’t look convincing either, but again: it’s prototype.
Engine and Performance
It’s said that the next generation of 7 Series will be using modular architecture that includes i4 as well as many propulsion options. It seems that Beemer won’t change the powertrain, which means that they are still using the V8 and I-6 turbocharged unit. Naturally, power would be improved. It will likely pair with auto 8-speed transmission through its rear wheel driving system or the all four.
However, rumor has it that the 7 Series from BMW would be offered in (full) electric too. There is not much information about the electric powertrain, but the descriptions of the motor configurations, power output, and range are matching to the i4 BMW M50. If it’s true, it means that you can expect a minimum 500 hp from the electric motors, 100 kWh battery, and the ability to reach 300 miles within a single charge. However, there is no confirmation or a slight nod about the EV (which will likely use i7 moniker). If it’s not going to make it as a full EV, there is always a plug-in hybrid.
Price and Release Date
The current BMW 7 Series has a base price around $86,000, but expect the new model to have a starting base at around $90,000. Since the M76Li would not be included in the range, it’s possible that the top range would be the EV variant, which may be set at around $140,000. The 2023 BMW 7 Series may be ready around summer time in 2022.
