2023 BMW 7 Series: Interesting Design Upgrade

There has been quite interesting update related to 2023 BMW 7 Series. Considering that the brand is extremely serious about preparing the new future side, they don’t want to reveal a lot of things. There have been several spyshots being released on the net about the camo prototype that is going through the testing stage. And it’s pretty interesting of what the recently revealed outcome is.

The Camouflaged Prototype

Although the new 2023 BMW 7 Series is still wearing heavy cover, the headlights are somewhat more visible. Whether Beemer intends to do it or not, it remains unclear. The ‘peeping’ headlights have given us better insight of how unconventional the whole setup is. From the look of it, the new 7 Series seems to come with split-designed headlights and also separate LED daytime running upper strip lights. The main and major cluster would be mounted lower (within the front bumper), and it appears that it has 2 lighting modules (designed for the lower beam) which are housed and placed within a rectangle.

Possible Future Design?

As if the unconventional arrangement weren’t odd enough, the placement of the license plate is strange. It looks unusually low, almost situating at the bumper’s very bottom area. Their previous testing vehicles didn’t arrange it to sit very close downward, very much almost touching the road. This kind of design has left making people wondering what the entire design is all about.

Moreover, Beemer doesn’t seem to make their grille any smaller. The kidney grille will remain imposing and menacing, even more imposing than the current model. It also seems that the front fascia would be sharper and even lower, having inspiration from 8 Series E31. On the side, the profile looks to showcase flush (door) handles that they have shared with other recent models from Beemer. But in the event that you don’t know it, the white so-called handles are actually fake. They are only stickers.

On the back area of the vehicle, there are some areas that are exposed, revealing its true color. It’s dark blue hue. If you take a closer look, you will also see on the front bumper’s upper corner where there are some hues of the color. The car’s taillights come with wraparound look as they have this flowing continuous design on the side area, and they would likely connect within the tailgate’s middle. From the prototype’s model, it has a look as if it hides the LED light bar.

Power and Performance

For the 7 Series, BMWOpens in a new tab. is planning on using the updated improvement of the CLAR platform. This platform has been ‘tweaked’ and it has been tested well to be compatible with diesel, gas, plug-in-hybrid, and even full electric modes. They won’t be using the regular V12 unit, but they must have figured out a way to replace it. many are confident that the company has found the worthy replacement for their smooth M760i twin turbo 6.6 liter unit, and with lower fuel consumption and also fewer emissions.

Inside and Out

It is the exterior that undergoes massive changes (hopefully, to a better look and design). But they are going to upgrade the interior cabin as well. Expect new technologies and more features being crammed into the ride. This upcoming vehicle would get the newest iDrive 8, which has side-by-side screens that are included within the (slightly) curved and single housing.

There is no information about the price as well as the release date. But it’s likely that it is going to launch somewhere in 2022; possible toward the end. It’s possible that the 2023 BMW 7 Series would come after the launch of 3 Series, but before the 5 Series.
