2023 BMW i7 Sedan Review, Pricing, & Specs: What We Know So Far?

The i7 will be BMW’s first all electric luxury sedan, following the introduction of Mercedes’ EQS electric S class. Designed jointly with the next generation 7 series, this electric car offers the same level of luxury as its gasoline powered counterpart. Powered by two electric motors, the i7 has a battery pack large enough to rival the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan and is as powerful as the EQS.

What Makes the 2023 BMW i7 So Special?

When the 2023 i7 goes on sale in fall 2022, it will be the flagship of BMW’s growing I-electric vehicle brand. This vehicle offers two types of transportation: whisper quiet luxury and chauffeured luxury, both with a host of technology features.

First electric sedan in the 7 series, the 2023 BMW i7 is luxurious, refined, and all electric. With impressive power, long driving range, and BMW’s sophisticated features, you can’t go wrong with this full size sedan.

Electric Motor of 2023 BMW i7

All electric sedans in this class have groundbreaking power. Both models will be equipped with battery packs capable of up to 100 kWh, giving the BMW i7 a range of approximately 300 miles between charges. Furthermore, BMW provided the i7 with two electric motors, one for the front and one for the rear, to enable all wheel drive.

A total of 536 horsepower & 549 pound feet of torque will be generated by these motors. The all electric sedan can reach 60 mph in 4.5 seconds if you enjoy rapid acceleration.

Battery & Charging Process of BMW i7

The EPA hasn’t yet released an official estimate of the i7’s driving range, but BMW claims it will last 300 miles on one charge. DC fast charging stations can be used to add 80 miles of driving range to the car’s large 101.7-kWh battery pack in just 10 minutes.

Interior Design of 2023 BMW i7

The i7 offers very high levels of comfort and luxury in its front and rear seats. The rear passenger cabin has a 31 inch widescreen display with HD quality and a personal e-SIM card. You can enjoy the ultimate viewing experience with this theater style screen while using Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Additionally, the rear passengers of the i7 have reclining seats in what BMW calls the Executive Lounge. You can also add heated, ventilated, and massaging seats to the rear seats of your i7 with the available Luxury Rear Seating Package. This sedan’s interior is adorned with Merino leather and cashmere wool trim for an ultra-premium feel.

A curved display with customized layouts is available on the i7’s iDrive 8 operating systems. Additionally, users will appreciate the BMW Interaction Bar, which provides illumination throughout the cabin. Dynamic LED controls and a changeable color design make the Sky Lounge LED roof a thrilling experience for riders.

Exterior Design of 2023 BMW i7

In terms of style and design, the 2023 BMW i7 delivers the refined aesthetics that discerning drivers demand from their cars. From what we know so far, the i7 will be available in both an eDrive50 and an M70 model. Its distinctive design and futuristic appearance will catch your eye as soon as you see it. A kidney shaped grille with slim headlights adorns the front of this luxury sedan.

Crystal Headlights made from crystal glass add a sophisticated touch. A fresh design and flush window designs enhance the 2023 i7’s aerodynamics and reduce cabin noises as your eyes flow along its sides.

Transmission & Performance of 2023 BMW i7

Automatic transmission with eight speeds is available in BMW i7. Additionally, there will be two combustion powered 7 Series on sale when they launch in 2022. 740i is the more affordable of the two, powered by the 3 liter B58 twin turbo straight six, which makes 375 horsepower and 383 pound feet of torque.

Combined with a mild hybrid system, the engine can churn out up to 398 lb ft of torque when necessary. From 0 to 60 mph is claimed to be clocked in five seconds flat with all that twist going to the rear wheels.

Suspension of 2023 BMW i7

The 2023 7 Series comes standard with air suspension on all four corners, as well as automatic self leveling and electronically controlled adaptive dampers. Power steering is standard on all trims except the base 740i, which varies with steering angle and sports speed sensitive power assistance.

A rear wheel steering system cuts the car’s turning circle by 2.5 feet by turning the rear wheels up to 3.5 degrees. When you order the 760i xDrive with the Autobahn package, then you will get active anti-roll bars that provide even more stability.

Fuel Efficiency of 2023 BMW i7

Neither the official fuel economy numbers nor the i7’s fuel economy on 75 mph highway test route has been released.

Maintenance & Warranty of 2023 BMW i7

I7 models come with the same warranty coverage as BMW’s other electric models, the iX SUV and the i4 sedan, meaning basic coverage for four years and 50,000 miles and much richer coverage for electric vehicle components. A complimentary three-year maintenance plan is also included with every new BMW.

  1. The limited warranty covers the vehicle for four years or 50000 miles
  2. The powertrain warranty covers the vehicle for four years or 50000 miles.
  3. The warranty period for EV components is eight years or 100000 miles
  4. Three years or 36000 miles of complimentary maintenance are included.

Safety of 2023 BMW i7

Standard features include a variety of driver assistance features, with more advanced technology available as an option. The car is equipped with a hands-free driving mode on the highway and a parking assistant system that enables the driver to exit the vehicle and park the car via a smartphone app.

In addition to automatic emergency braking and lane mitigation, BMW is expected to equip the new i7 with a number of driver-assist features as standard. A semi autonomous driving system called Highway Assistant is also available with adaptive cruise control.

Infotainment System of 2023 BMW i7

In the i7, a large floating digital gauge and infotainment display borrow from the iX SUV’s digital dashboard. Two displays are sandwiched under one glass pane for clear visibility into driving data and entertainment features.

A 31.3 inch screen is available in the rear seat for rear seat entertainment, such as streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. The car can also connect to a 5G cellular network for proper accessing these services.

Release Date & Cost of 2023 BMW i7

A stylish BMW i7 will debut in 2023, albeit less crass than the recently unveiled XM SUV concept, which still makes some bold decisions, such as its grille intakes and split element headlights.

I7 customer deliveries will begin later that summer of 2023 in Europe, and it will reach US shores in November. A single electric model is currently available, with a starting price of 120,295 dollars, making it the most expensive. Starting at 114,995 dollars, the 760i is powered by a V8 engine.

BMW will only offer the xDrive60 all wheel drive version of the i7 for now, but you can expect more sporty M sport models in the future. With its optional Executive Lounge package, the i7 can be configured to pamper rear seat passengers, like the gasoline powered 7 series. Plush, electrically reclining rear seats with massage are included in that package, thereby justifying its price tag.
