What’s Coming for the Upcoming 2024 Model?

So, what’s happening to the 2024 GMC Sierra model? There would be small changes happening to the Sierra 1500 Light Duty, after major refreshment work has been done to the 2022 model. What about the Heavy Duty ones, especially 2500 HD and 3500 HD? They will get major refreshment work for the 2024 model and it includes a new interior, powertrain updates, and also new designs for the front and the back.

The major refreshment work is actually scheduled for the upcoming 2023 model. The 2024 model would be coming in two body styles: the Light Duty and also the Heavy Duty styles. The layout for the machine would be longitudinal front engine. For the upcoming model, the focus availability would be focused on Mexico, America, and Canada.

Powertrain and Performance

There would be 3 different transmissions being implemented for the all fleet of Sierra. All of them would be the automatic transmission, with 6 speed, 8 speed, and also 10 speed transmission. It would be a rear wheel and also four wheel driving system.

The Light Duty would be coming with gas turbocharged engine with 2.7 liter capacity, able to generate 310 hp and 430 Nm of torque. It is set to pair with auto 8 speed transmission. The Light Duty comes with another option, which is the V8 gas Ecotec3 unit with 5.3 liter capacity, producing 355 hp and 383 Nm of torque. It would be paired with either auto 8 speed transmission and two wheel driving system. Another option would be the auto 10 speed transmission and four wheel driving system.

Still within the Light Duty sector, another engine option would be the V8 gas Ecotec3 with 6.2 liter capacity, generating 420 hp and 460 Nm of torque. It would be coming with auto 10 speed transmission. And the last one for the Light Duty type would be the Duramax turbocharged diesel engine of 3.0 liter capacity, delivering 277 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Its pair is the auto 10 speed transmission.

For the Heavy Duty type, there would be V8 naturally aspirated gas engine with 6.6 liter capacity, delivering 401 hp and 464 Nm of torque. It is paired with auto 6 speed transmission. Another option would be the V8 diesel turbocharged unit with 6.6 liter capacity, delivering 445 hp and 910 Nm of torque. It would be paired with auto 10 speed transmission.

Another optional type, the Medium Duty, may not be the focus of attention, but the company does provide one. It would be paired with V8 turbocharged diesel unit with 6.6 liter capacity that is churning 350 hp and 700 Nm of torque. It would be paired with auto 6 speed transmission.

The company hasn’t released the technical and mechanical details, unless for the engine, so we should hear again from them concerning their upcoming 2024 GMC Sierra.
