2024 Jeep Wrangler EV and Its Upcoming Production

Jeep has been providing a slight info about their plans to electrify the new 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Jeep is one of the auto manufacturers that have been thinking about the future electric power for their upcoming productions. And they have pretty ambitious plan to electrify all of their productions before 2030. The 2024 would be the starting period where they will begin with the electrification, so we can expect some good news from them.

About the Upcoming Production Plan

Jeep has quite positive plans for their electrified vehicles. They even have some rendering images and they have come up with the designing plans. You have to admit that the EV version of this tough offroader is quite good. Despite the electric power (which was believed to be weaker than the gas unit), the EV is said to have punchier and more powerful outcome. Moreover, many people said that the electric powertrain would affect the appearance of the vehicle, making it ugly and lame. But JeepOpens in a new tab. manages to prove that such thought is wrong. The upcoming 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV is super good-looking.

The Magneto

Jeep still manages to include its signature style for their offroader. During the Easter Jeep Safari in 2021 located in Moab, Utah, there is a concept ride for the upcoming Wrangler EV. This concept ride is called the Magneto. It comes with four battery packs (with chassis mount system) that is especially located for optimum weight distribution and balance.

Stellantis, the Jeep’s parent company, has released a video showing technologies incorporated by the Wrangler EV. The new ride is said to have biometric recognition system, using physical data or cues. The technology would use either fingerprints or facial recognition in order to confirm the owner’s identity. Such a technology is crucial so the car can be driven and started.

The vehicle is so advanced that it can recharge other EVs. Jeep has already produced the 4xe, which is the Wrangler’s plug in hybrid version, and they have sold it. So, it shouldn’t be too much to believe that full electric Wrangler is due to come.

Trims and Prices

Expect the 2024 model to have similar power and abilities like the current JL series. The electric power should be able to improve its ability to a higher notch. The available trims should start with Sport as the base one, which is estimated to sell at around $50,000. The next one would be the Freedom, set at around $55,000. And then the next one would be the Sahara, at around $60,000. The Rubicon is next in line with at least $65,000. And then, the highest trim would be the Magneto, with a tag price at around $70,000.

The trims are still about the regular Wrangler, so Jeep hasn’t said anything about the Wrangler EV. But mind you, the electric vehicle is definitely not cheap. With starting price set at around $50,000, it’s safe to say that the electric ride is pretty costly. More features mean more expenses, if you prefer it that way.

The Magneto concept offers unique EV power and its arrangement. It is running on electric motor (which is able to generate 285 hp) and then pairs it with manual six speed transmission and four packs of battery. However, many have expected a more traditional powertrain: with only one (or more) electric motors, one battery pack, and no transmission.

Interior Cabin

Up until now, it’s not very clear whether the EV would be coming in four door or two door body styles, but expect the same dash layout and interior space like the current Wrangler; including the removable roof and doors. We should know more about 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV once the info is available.
