If you have been waiting for the electric line in Porsche
, you may be excited to know that 2023 Porsche Macan would be coming with it. Yes, the crossover is said to be available on electric power (and also new platform), offering more than 227 miles of range (at least with EPA-estimated expectation). With a combination of good looks and punchy machine, it won’t be a surprised if the upcoming Macan would be a huge hit.
Redesigned Plan
Porsche is preparing its electric version for the 2023 model, and they are testing the prototypes currently. With the electric platform, the car would have more range than the Taycan, which also comes as an electric sedan. Aside from the electric range, Macan will still launch the gas-powered line that is predicted to sell by the end of the year.
And how do you differentiate the gas-powered Macan from the electric line? Well, the electric type would be built on a different platform, which is almost the same as the 800V Taycan electric. The gas-powered type, on the other hand, would have a completely different design, similar to Panamera and Taycan.
Exterior and Construction
The upcoming electric 2023 Porsche Macan will be using on PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture by VW’s Group. Such a construction would be implemented on the future products of Porsche as well as Audi. For the gas-powered line, Porsche will still use the existing (Macan’s) platform. For Macan, the available trim so far is GTS, Turbo, and S.
Although Macan EV may be similar to the Taycan, Macan will have more range than the latter one. It means that its performance would be higher or greater than the Taycan 2021 4S model with its EPA-estimated 227 miles of range. This matter is crucial if Macan wants to compete against other powerful EV lines, such as Tesla Model Y and also Mustang Mach-E Ford. Both of them have more than 300 miles of EPA range. To prepare its upcoming launch, Porsche is even planning on expanding the partnership with Electrify America (charging network) that will expand their destination chargers for dealerships and hotels.
Be sure that EV Macan would be different from the standard one. The differences would be pretty obvious, especially on the front end. Unfortunately, Macan is still on its testing period, which means that it is still covered with camouflage. But from the prototype, the headlights look slimmer and it doesn’t have traditional grille. But other than that, the shape and size would be just the same as the standard one.
Price and Release Date
As it was mentioned before, it’s highly likely that the new EV Macan would be available by the end of the year, and the exact date hasn’t been mentioned. It’s likely that there would be European debut first, followed by Australian and American launch (although it’s not know which one comes first). For the price, the entry level may start from around $170,000 to $180,000. We just have to wait for further release of 2023 Porsche Macan which may happen soon enough.
