Speculations of What 2023 Mustang GT Would Be

There are flying rumors about 2023 Mustang GT, mostly because everyone has been waiting for the return of this muscle ride with some updates features. Yes, the company is said to redesign the next Mustang, making it a modern seventh-generation ride. The current one is known as code S550, while the upcoming one is the S650. There are several social media posts that suggest the S650 is being developed, including some details of the work. Although those posts aren’t exactly clear of what they are talking, people are speculating and drawing conclusions of what they have known about the ride.

A New Construction and Structure?

Rumor has it that the new Mustang will be coming with a completely new platform, the CD6 platform. It was debuted on Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer. Both of them show very modular structure. Surely, having such a modular platform has its own benefits, but then again, it may also change the dimension and size of the Mustang. Most people are worried that the new Mustang will be a whole lot bigger, certainly longer and wider.

But what concerns people the most is the matter of weight. The current Mustang GT weighs around 3,743 pounds with manual transmission. Do people want it to be heavier? No, they don’t want to. But then again, if Mustang comes with the modular platform, namely CD6, it will be able to accommodate all wheel driving system as well as hybrid power. It helps the company expands the target market, for sure. But will Mustang hardcore fans love it? It’s questionable.

The Interior Cabin

Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation from the company, it’s interesting to see how the CD6 structure will affect the interior cabin. Many of the sources say that the CD6 is like building blocks sets, with the suspension module, dash height components, engine room, axle to firewall structure, and others. They are parts of interchangeable mix and fit styles that can be matched and added with various electrical hardware, interior parts, powertrain, and body. It creates flexible arrangements for different vehicles; no matter their sizes and shapes.

Powertrain and Performance

For the 2023 Mustang GT, it’s likely that it will come with turbo petrol four cylinder unit that is almost the same as the EcoBoost unit of 2.3 liter used within the current Mustang. There are speculations that hybrid and V8 settings would be available for European market, while the petrol-electric hybrids, petrol V6, and plug-in-hybrids would be available in some certain markets.
