Lexus RX was the pioneer of luxury crossover, so it should be exciting to expect what the company’s plan is when it comes to 2023 Lexus RX. When it was first introduced in 1999, everyone fell in love with this very first ever luxurious crossover. Even after years, turning to decades, the RX remains as one of the best Lexus’ variants in the market. This is the line that first offered hybrid engine, resulting in impressive fuel economy technology without compromising power or performance.
The Upcoming 2023 Plan
If everything goes as planned, a new RX generation should be available soon enough. And with Toyota’s determination to always update and expand their technologies, there are many rumors concerning electrified powertrain. Now, the question is, will the SUV make improvement through hybrid-only offer and all electric technologies?
The Exterior Area
Lexus RX has undergone many changes over the years, but you can’t underestimate the latest design either. It is able to combine the aggression (from the first and initial design) and also the subtle elegance and softness of the latest style. In short, the 2023 Lexus RX would be bigger in size, for sure. It is set as a strong rival against GLE Class Mercy, Acura MDX, and X5 from Beemer. Details about the exterior appearance hasn’t been mentioned again, so we should wait for further release.
The Interior Cabin
Because the ride is growing in size, naturally, it will affect the space within the interior cabin. If you want a roomier vehicle that can affect convenience and comfort for the driver and passengers, then this vehicle would be a perfect option. It’s possible that the extra space and size would have a third row, which can be functional and usable. But then again, for crossover model, third row is functional for kids or short trip.
Technologies and features are included, naturally. The latest infotainment system (the bigger touchscreen 12.3 inch display) would be offered in higher trim. The base model will stay with the 8.0 inch screen. Lexus will likely keep the touch pad controls. With driver assistance (Lexus Safety System) upgrade, you can expect improved convenience and fun. It’s even possible that the next gen of RX would have the advanced semi-autonomous (driving) assistance. It definitely makes driving more fun and less stressful.
Engine and Performance
For the fifth gen of RX, it will be built on TNGA-K platform, which is the same construction used by Camry, Highlander, and RAV4. Rumor has it that the RX will have all electric variant. Lexus was offering DIRECT4 driving control tech for RVs and hybrids. Those engines may debut in the future RX. With such an arrangement, the RX may become the flagship model, but it’s likely that not all markets will get them. Only areas (or countries) with infrastructure-ready features that will get the RX.
Price and Release Date
The price for the new ride is predicted to start from around $45,000. For the release date, it’s still unclear whether the 2023 Lexus RX will be ready by the end of this year or during the middle of 2022.
