2024 BMW 5 Series Redesign, Release Date, Coupe – The German automaker’s offering in every market continues to be anchored by the 2024 BMW 5 Series. Luxury sport sedans like the 2024 BMW 5 Series are still in high demand despite the general drop in demand for sedans. A new 48-volt mild-hybrid system for the 540i and 540i xDrive versions, as well as revised interior and exterior appearance, have been added to the current seventh-generation BMW 5 Series, which was first unveiled in 2016. The 2024 BMW 5 Series has contributed to establishing BMW’s reputation for elegance, sporty driving, and top-notch engineering since its launch in 1972. The most recent model is no different, and it will be a tough competitor to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, which have also been updated.
BMW has almost made a good package even better by putting more focus on improving fuel economy, which is a must-have in this day and age.
2024 BMW 5 Series Redesign
Exterior And Interior Design
The designers had limited options because this is merely a mid-life upgrade, but they did a good job finishing the work that was given to them. What task was that? The surfaces and lines of the 2024 BMW 5 Series need to be polished. The newly designed kidney grille with its reshaped headlights is the clearest illustration of this. The revised grille has grown in height and width since last year, albeit it still pales in comparison to the huge grille on the 7 Series. Standard adaptive LED headlights have two L-shaped daytime running lights on each side that double as turn signals in addition to being significantly smaller than before. The taillights have also been updated on the back, and now have an L-shaped design with black edges. Because of the “more sweeping profile” that designers gave the 2024 BMW 5 Series, which means better aerodynamics, the sedan’s overall length has actually increased by 1.2 inches.
The standard improvements are included in the optional M Sport Package, as are special front and rear bumpers, bigger front air intakes, and a redesigned rear diffuser. The more powerful M550i xDrive has the same aero kit, as well as a rear spoiler, front air intake relays, black chromed dual exhaust, and high-gloss black window surrounds.
The 2024 BMW 5 Series interior is filled with technology, as is the case with many modern cars. In fact, there has been a significant technological advancement, beginning with Live Cockpit Professional with iDrive7. Both a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display are part of this system. Both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay stand invested, with Android Auto debuting in the 2024 BMW 5 Series.
The Perforated SensaTec upholstery with contrast stitching is another new standard. The M550i xDrive is offered with standard and optional Dakota Leather. Customers can choose Nappa leather as well. The four- and six-cylinder models’ optional Black SensaTec-covered dashboards with brown stitching are a great finishing touch. A sunroof, a sport leather steering wheel, motorized front sports seats with lumbar support, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are further standard equipment.
2024 BMW 5 Series Engine
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the 530i continues to produce 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque from the previous model year. However, a 48-volt starter-generator for better fuel efficiency gives the 540i a significant increase inside. Its inline-six engine is still there, but the stop/start function will function more effectively thanks to the new generator. When coasting or braking, this technology can recover energy, which it uses to generate an extra 11 horsepower when the turbocharger isn’t fully spooled. According to BMW, the 540i can accelerate from a complete stop to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds or 4.6 seconds with xDrive AWD. Official fuel economy statistics are still pending announcement.
Like before, all 2024 BMW 5 Series models come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 that powers the M550i xDrive continues to produce 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. All 2024 BMW 5 Series grades will be equipped with Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Rear Collision Preparation as just a few of the standard safety equipment.
2024 BMW 5 Series Release Date And Price
As usual, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Audi A6 will compete against the BMW 2024 5 Series. After 2020, its closest Japanese counterpart, the Lexus GS, will no longer be produced. The starting price of the 2024 BMW 5 Series 530i is $54,200, and with the xDrive AWD technology added, the price rises to $56,500. The 540i and 540i xDrive start at $59,450 and $61,750, respectively, and come equipped with that remarkable new 48-volt hybrid system. In 2024, the top-of-the-line M550i xDrive will cost more, starting at $76,800. A later date will see the release of the upgraded M5.
